POS Integration

Feature Request

I’m looking for a program to integrate a Squarespace ecomerce website with a brick-and-mortar Point of Sale application using the Order & Inventory APIs. I’m willing to give up Quickbooks POS but need a POS with similar robust features—Squarespace and Square will not suffice. I want to keep Squarespace, and the Shopify Buy Button is NOT ideal for a large complex website. I imagine there are similiar requests out there.

I’d be open to discuss a custom application…

    A robust POS integration would be incredibly valuable but it isn’t possible for third-party developers to build this kind of functionality. While Squarespace does offer limited APIs (like the Orders and Inventory APIs), they’re not open or flexible enough to allow a full POS system to be integrated in a reliable, supported way. In fact, Squarespace’s own POS solution (currently only available in the US) relies on internal platform capabilities that aren’t accessible to outside developers. We’re looking forward to Squarespace’s own engineers building this functionality for use outside the US. I encourage you to pass on your feedback directly to Squarespace via their official request channels so they can gauge the interest from users in different countries. The more they hear from customers about these kinds of needs, the more likely they are to prioritise them in future updates.
