Better Waitlist Functionality

Wanted to share a business problem I've been experiencing in Squarespace with you. Squarespace offers a waitlist function, but it’s limited in two ways:

1. It does not record when the person added themselves to the waitlist.
2. It does not send the website admin a notification that a new person has added to the waitlist.

I recently had an event where we still had room for 10 more people. However, our product inventory for the event had erroneously zeroed out for some reason (our fault!). However, I just discovered we had 10 people in the waitlist. It would have been really helpful to receive notifications when these folks were adding themselves, as I would have discovered the inventory error. And if I knew the waitlist dates, I could have known how recently folks had signed up (and thus loosely how recent / relevant their interest was).

I don't know if this is a good plugin idea or not, but it seems relevant to a large number of business users.
